Painting, drawing and decorative concrete
Painting, drawing and decorative concrete

For over fifty years, I have immersed myself in creative endeavors, producing a wide variety of art that embodies my unique artist style and reflects my journey as a visual creator. While painting and drawing have always been my main interests, my curiosity has driven me to explore other forms of contemporary art that challenge my ability to create what I envision. My insatiable quest to explore spatial relationships within two-dimensional planes has also led to great satisfaction in producing three-dimensional works. Whether it be sculpture or decorative concrete applications in commercial and residential design, the direction of my artistic expression has been limited only by my imagination. Pursuing the making of art, in whatever form it may take, has been a lifelong journey that continues to define who I am. After all, it is truly my Functional Peace.
God gave me this gift and a wonderous Nature to explore. From the sunlight and wind tricking trough the forrest leaves like gentle water in a steam, to the rushing torrents of glacial melts carving away centuries in stone, He has blessed me with more than I could possible express in one lifetime — but, I'm gonna give it a try!
Meeting and getting to know the many fascinating people and beautiful places I have been so fortunate to experience are also primary influences upon my art. From the old man running a little country store to the person sitting next to me at a European cafe, the intricacy of cultural diversity forms an interconnected web of commonality that I strive to express in my work. Allowing communication barriers to gradually melt into one another through visual form and artistic expression, I seek to discover what makes us all so alike rather than to emphasize what makes us different.
My proclivity for visual expression has been forged from the desire to rationalize what at first may seem garish but strives to become ethereal through the unity of design. As love is the common thread that brings together humankind, so are my ambitions to produce art that transcends the limitations of mere expression by combining the tactile with the abstract, and seeing through the abhorrent to find the beauty within.

It's not always the case, but many of my ideas begin with a simple sketch. A few lines on a page often evolve into a myriad of possibilities, each in its own direction or style, with the chosen medium being the arbiter of the final result.

With a background in various construction-related fields, my most recent fascination with decorative concrete applications feels effortlessly natural. I have been passionately creating pieces that range from intricate stepping stones to expansive hardscaping, all of which embody elements of nature's influence within my work.
